![]() Of course, the views of Reflection and Louise Lakes from the parking lots are excellent, with the benefit of having one of the nicer roadside views of Rainier - although if you drive about another 3/4 mile down WA-706, there is a spectacular "roadside" view of Rainier. This one won't be nearly as crowded as the High Lakes Loop trail, and has a bit better views - although both are excellent. Park Pass Distance: 2.75 mi Loop, Duration: 2-3 hrs, Difficulty. It's only 2.6 miles, but covers much more elevation gain than the previous hike (1055' in 1.3 miles is fairly steep, but the trail is beautifully maintained). Rainier’s summit is 60 miles as the crow flies. It's really crowded on weekends, and may not be worth the hike (the ledge can get packed) - it's more of a weekday hike. It’s the huckleberries, though, that steal the show. The views of the Tatoosh Range are excellent, although there are few good views of Rainier on the trail - and the view from the Faraway Rock ledge (down Stevens Canyon and also across to the Tatoosh) is worth the hike, IMO.
